1:1 FLOWER & GARDEN PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION
My one-to-one photography classes are designed for individuals who already possess a basic knowledge of photography and camera functions but wish to enhance their skills in the specific genre of flower and garden photography.
These photo-walk classes focus on composition and adapting to the natural light and conditions of your environment to capture plants and gardens in the most flattering way.
Learning in-person in a garden enables you to immediately apply the techniques taught by me, and receive instant feedback and tips. The class is followed up with email support if you seek my advice on editing the photos from our session.
** BOOKING IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2024. PLEASE SIGN UP TO MY NEWSLETTER VIA MY HOMEPAGE TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN BOOKS OPEN FOR THE 2025 SEASON IN SPRING **
Classes are taught March-October in Enfield at either Myddelton House Gardens or Capel Manor Gardens (entry ticket price included)
My mini sessions are £95 for 1.5hrs for one person, with the option to bring a friend for £45
Want a longer session? Choose two consecutive afternoon slots below for a 3hr session for an investment of £190 (we will stop for a break - tea & cake included!)
Not local? No problem. I am happy to travel within 45 miles from EN2 to a garden nearer to you at an added cost. Please contact me to discuss options

You will learn:
To identify the most flattering light for flower photography and adapt to more challenging conditions through the use of your camera functions, physical positioning and diffusing or reflecting
To analyse subjects in order to capture their most compelling points of interest
To achieve sharp focus in your images
To select the appropriate aperture for various plants to achieve a range of creative effects
How to maximise the capabilities of your specific lens
Why your background is just as important as your subject, and how to create complimentary backgrounds for your photographs
What you will need:
A DSLR or mirrorless camera (i.e the ability to use manual/aperture priority mode)
If you own a macro lens, please bring it along with a general-use zoom lens. Just bring the latter if you don’t own a macro
If you own a tripod and do not mind carrying it for the length of the photo-walk, please bring it along, though this is not an essential
Comfortable footwear and a jacket in case of rain - though in the case of a bad weather forecast we can reschedule!
Both gardens offer on-site parking with convenient access from the M25 and A10. Alternatively, for those travelling by train, the nearest station is Turkey Street, which provides links from Liverpool Street.
Please use the scheduling calendar below to book your session
If you only have availability at weekends, please email info@marinawalker.co.uk to enquire separately and I will open up a mutually convenient weekend slot for you.
